On October 11th, 2023, the Marketing Alumni Association (MAA) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) hosted “Harmony of Honours – Felicitation of MAA’s Finest,” a special event celebrating a historic achievement: the appointment of four of its members as Deans of major state universities in Sri Lanka. This unprecedented sweep highlights the strength and influence of USJ’s Department of Marketing Management.
The four newly appointed Deans, honored at the event, are: Professor Bandara Wanninayake (Faculty of Commerce and Management, University of Kelaniya), Professor Nalin Abeysekara (Faculty of Management Studies, Open University of Sri Lanka), Professor Dushan Jayawickrama (Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, USJ), and Professor Dinesh Samarasinghe (Faculty of Business, University of Moratuwa).
“Harmony of Honours” provided a platform for the MAA to express immense pride in the accomplishments of these distinguished alumni. MAA President Darshana Jayasinghe emphasized the association’s commitment to supporting their efforts in enhancing undergraduate education across Sri Lanka. He highlighted the importance of their roles in shaping the future of the country by developing the skills and competencies of the next generation of leaders.
